Mildred Wolverton Kennedy, 86, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday at the Hospice of Dayton. She was born May 5, 1919 to Guy and Letha Wolverton of Poland, Ind. She was also the granddaughter of Irwin and Annie Phegley of Brazil. She graduated from Indiana University and was married to Dayton attorney Thomas G. Kennedy for 39 years before his death in 1981.

She is survived by three sons, Joseph of Troy, Ohio, Guy of Dayton, Ohio, and Eugene of Haines, Alaska; three daughters, Sylvia Scourfield of Portland, Ore., Phyllis Desch of Xenia, Ohio, and Catherine Barnes of Urbana, Ohio, a foster daughter, Huong Ha Debaugh of Louisville, Ky., one brother, Forrest Wolverton of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the George C. Martin Funeral Home, 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road in Dayton, Ohio. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery. Visitation services will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
