William H. "Buddy" Cooper, 53, of Clay City, died at 12:10 a.m. Dec. 10, 2005, at Harborside Nursing Home in Terre Haute. He was born Feb. 28, 1952, to William P. and Mary Jane Ellis Cooper. Bill graduated from Clay City High School in 1970. He worked at McCann Manor, in Center Point, for 17 years and was the administrator for nine years. He enjoyed working with his dogs and on his computer.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, stepfather Hugh "Mac" McCann, a sister, Sandra Delvo, an uncle, Ralph Ellis and an aunt, Susie Lamb.

Survivors include his brothers, Steve Cooper and wife Kim and Willard Cooper and wife Tonya all of Clay City; uncles, Jim Ellis and wife Pam of Clay City; Jesse Ellis and wife Debbie of Brazil; nieces, Heather Haviland of Clay City; Kristen Cooper of Clay City; nephews, Carl Delvo and wife Julie of Cory; Rusty Deckard and wife Cory of Riley; Steven Cooper and wife Jen of Clay City; Brad Haviland and wife Dana of Brazil; as well as a large exended family.

Services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Lucas officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday, 5-7 p.m.
