Ethel I. Sutherlin Stevenson, 88, of Russellville, Ind., died at 2 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at Hickory Creek of Crawfordsville.
She had cooked for several restaurants and was a member of Eastern Star No. 330 of Groveland for 50 years.
She was born Feb. 14, 1917, at Hoosierville, Ind., to Oliver Perry Hall and Etta Roe Hall.
She was married to Courtney G. Sutherlin on June 12, 1935, at New Market, Ind. He died Feb. 17, 1963. She later married James A. Stevenson on March 2, 1974, at Brazil. He died Nov. 5, 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Jane Bowman of Russellville; three sons, David Courtney Sutherlin of Darlington, Donald Glen Sutherlin of Brazil and Jackie Neal Sutherlin of Darlington; a stepdaughter, Doris Martin of Brazil; four stepsons, Don Stevenson, Ron Stevenson, Bill Stevenson and Bob Stevenson; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchldren; and several stepgrandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; and stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Salty Sutherlin; a stepgrandson, Larry Sutherlin; two great-grandsons, Gordon Day and Coy Zeller; three sisters, Emma Green, Clara Smith and Betty Wools; and three brothers, Kenneth, Raymond and Delbert Hall.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, 301 E. Green St., Waveland, Ind., with the Rev. Velma Keesling and Brother Don Perry officiating. Burial will be in Sutherlin Cemetery.
Visitation was 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
