Lewis Dale Mayfield, 55, of Brazil, died at 3:35 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind.
He was born Nov. 13, 1950, in Brazil, Ind., as the son of Harry Eugene and JoAnn Garrison Mayfield. He graduated from El Cajlon High School in California. He married Rebecca Ann White August 15, 1981, in Center Point, Ind. He was employed as a construction carpenter. Lewis loved farming and his animals. He attended Bee Ridge Church and was a member of St. Patrick's Parrish.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Harry Ray Mayfield and his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca; his mother; one sister, Diana Herfell and husband, Ronald, of Boise, Idaho; mother and father-in-law, Leon and Beverly White; sister and brother-in-law Chris and Joe Pestoff of Brazil; brother and sister-in-law Ken and Sheri White of Zionsville; ten nieces and nephews; one great-niece and one great-nephew.
At the request of the deceased his body will be cremated and a memorial service scheduled at a later date. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, 705 Putnam Street, Terre Haute IN 47802.
