Helen Winklepleck went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2005. She was born April 13, 1921, to Francis Salin and Anna Akers Salin in Clay County, Indiana. She graduated from Brazil High School in 1939, was initiated into the Brazil Chapter 80 of the Order of Eastern Star in 1942, was Worthy Matron in 1952 and Guardian of Job's Daughters in 1958.

She married John Winklepleck on January 1, 1944, whom she is survived by, as well as her own son, Steven, his wife, Judy, and a grandson, John Frances. Helen was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Tilley and Freida Vance in 2004.

Helen was employed at Security Loan in Terre Haute and Arketex Ceramic Corp. in the 1940s. She belonged to the Woman's Department Club and Realtor Wives of Terre Haute. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church of Brazil, and she and her husband loved to travel and had visited all 50 states and nine foreign countries.

Her wishes were for cremation with no visitation or services, and she will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute. Any donations can be made in memory of Helen to the Multiple Myeloma Charitable Foundation, 2516-23rd Ave., SE, Rochester, MN 55904.
