John Franklin "Frank" Butler, age 88 of Harmony, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, January 05, 2006 at Clay Health Center in Brazil.
He was born June 5, 1917, in Clay County, Indiana, as the son of George W. and Henrietta Thomas Butler. He attended school at Van Buren. He married Anna J. Crosley January 4, 1945. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army until his discharge as a Corporal in 1946. He was employed as a truck driver and farmer until his retirement. He was a member of the Brazil Bible Fellowship Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anna on December 20, 2005; one son, Randy Butler; one daughter, Terri Anderson; five sisters, Mary Emory, Opal Smith, Florence Bay Elliott , Frances Butler, and May Trump; and one granddaughter, Kristen McKee.
He is survived by three daughters, Martha Stearley of Farmersburg, IN, Mary Shaffer and husband, Jim and Becky McKee and husband Matt all of Terre Haute; one son, Mark Butler and wife Maureen of Harmony and one brother, George Noble Butler of Brazil. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday with Pastors Gordon Nelson and Jim Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
