Mary Remington Craft, 62, of Brazil, died at Putnam County Hospital at 7:03 a.m. Sunday, January 8, 2006.
She was born January 9, 1943, to Ross and Helen Louise Dowen Remington. She graduated from Rockville High School in 1961 and then began working for the Shell Oil Company as a secretary. She also worked for the Brazil Cable Company and most recently the Putnamville Correctional Facility as a prison guard. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and was very active in the Carbon United Methodist Church; she also enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her stepdaughters, Sally Ross and husband Bill of Mt. Vernon IN, and Susan Keller and husband John of Princeton TX; stepgrandchildren, Sarah Greene and Kurt Greene of Mt. Vernon IN; and Trevor Keller and Ty Keller of Princeton TX.; a stepgreat-grandson Ross Stevens; and a brother Jim Remington and wife Mary of Barto, FL.
Mary had requested to be cremated. Her family will be having a graveside service at Clear Run Cemetery at a later date. In her memory memorial contributions may be made to the Carbon United Methodist Church. French Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
