He was born March 1, 1941, to Wallace and Martha Hepler Kress. He graduated from Clay City High School in 1960. Following high school he served in the Air National Guard. In the '70s he owned and operated "The Beverage Place," a Clay City liquor store.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anne (Braut) Kress, and his parents.
Survivors include three sisters; Loretta Miller and husband Russell of Clay City, Marylyn Reed and husband Charles of Greencastle, Patti Archer and husband Robert of Terre Haute, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday January 13, 2006, at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with Ray Deeter officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
