Norma Gene Keiser, 88, of Clay City passed away January 21, 1006, at her daughter's residence. She had been in failing health for sometime.
Born December 4, 1917, in Clay County, she was the daughter of Clarence Chillson and Martha Oberholtzer Chillson. She graduated from Clay City High School, Class of 1935. She furthered her eduction at Indiana Business School in Terre Haute. She worked at First Bank and Trust in Clay City for several years. On July 21, 1944 she married William Henry "Bill" Keiser. They operated the family farm together until his death in 1968. She had also worked in the past at CBS and at the Clay City Post Office. She was a life-long member of the Clay City First Brethren Church. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center and volunteered at the "New To You" shop in Clay City. She enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards and dominos. She was a good business woman, a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be sorely missed by her son and daughter in law, Ken and Karen Keiser of Center Point; two daughters and sons -in-law, Ann and Gary Loudermilk of Bronaugh, MO; and Sue and Den Smith of Clay City; three grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Clay City First Brethren Church with Dr. Robert Clouse officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schoppenhorst Funeral Home.
