Merl G. Kay, 95, Bowling Green, died February 10, 2006, at Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer.

Born December 23, 1911, in Clay County, she was the daughter of Elmer and Rose (Stevens) Royer. She was a graduate of Bowling Green High School, a homemaker, a Past Worthy Matron of the Bowling Green Eastern Star and a member of the Bowling Green Methodist Church.

Merl is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Herrberg of Bowling Green; two sisters, Cynthia Moon, of Bowling Green; Adalee Jordan of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Sean Herrberg of Dayton, Ohio; Jeremy L. (Libby) Herrberg of Bowling Green; and one great-granddaughter, Emily Herrberg of Dayton, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Harold Kay, two children, Barbara Jean Kay and Jack Kay and 12 brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2006, at noon in Bowling Green United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mindy Huffman officiating.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.

The Bowling Green Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 10:30 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bowling Green Old Settlers Committee or the Bowling Green Methodist Church. West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer, Indiana, is providing arrangements.
