Lucy E. Bickel, 70, Jasonville, died Sunday, February 12, 2006, at her residence.
Born January 23, 1936, in Greene County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Arley F. Edelman and Margaret Iris (Baker) Edelman.
September 27, 1953, she married Donald W. "Don" Bickel and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2003.
Survivors include five daughters and four sons-in-law, Donna and Jim Bradbury of Hymera, Indiana; Nancy and Dennis Jones, Debra and Steve Strahla and Diana Mitchell, all of Jasonville; and Cheryl and Jeff Reed of Indianapolis; two sons, Donnie Bickel of Coalmont; and David Bickel and special friend Sandy Cazee of Jasonville; two sisters, Iris Green of Midland, Indiana, and Shirley and Larry Bickel of Columbus, Indiana; brothers-in-law and wives, Ed and Joan Bickel of Columbus, Indiana; Jack and Wanda Bickel of Coalmont; and Bill and Gudrun Bickel of Washington State; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a grandson, Billy Turley.
She was a retired Avon representative, lifelong member of the Coalmont Church of God, later attended Lebanon Baptist Church, 24-year member and a past president of the Gideon International Auxiliary Clay County Camp.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2006, at the McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, 631 East Main St., Jasonville, IN 47438 with Pastors Harold Thomas and David Hoskins officiating. Burial will be in K of P Cemetery in Hymera.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clay County Camp of Gideon International, P.O. Box 271, Brazil, IN 47834. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
