Betty Irene Murphy Musgrave, 76, of Clay City, Indiana, passed away in her home Tuesday afternoon February 14, 2006.

She was born July 4, 1929, in Clay County Indiana to Casper "Dick" and Myrtle (Easter) Murphy. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her family, travel, music, and needlework. (We will miss her sweet smile.)

She was preceded in death by her parents; a half sister, Mary Botnovcan; a half brother, Johnny Alex; and twin grand daughters, Valerie and Heather Moody.

She is survived by her husband Marvin E. Musgrave of 56 years whom she married on December 17, 1949; two daughters and sons in law Beverly and Jim Royer of Sullivan; Barbara and Alan Moody of Worthington; and son and daughter in law Robert and Mary Beth Musgrave of Terre Haute; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Royer) Kearns and husband Brendan of Clay City; Chris Moody and wife Angie of Worthington; Mike Royer and wife Mary Jo of Sullivan; Scott Musgrave and wife Amanda of Tuscola, Illinois, Sean Musgrave and wife Brandi of Seymour; and Chad Moody of Worthington; seven great-grandchildren; Emma Royer, Evan Royer of Sullivan; Sarah Redinger, Sydney Musgrave of Seymour; Taylor Musgrave, Colton Musgrave of Tuscola; and Dylan Moody of Worthington; a special cousin Rose Marie Thomas of Waveland; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2006, at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City with Pastor Richard Pippen officiating. Burial will follow at Ashboro Cemetery in Ashboro. Visitation will be held on Friday from noon to 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
