Robert "Bobby" H. Dix, Jr., 56, of Brazil, died unexpectedly Feb. 18, 2006, due to pneumonia.
He was born Oct. 6, 1949, in Saratoga Springs, New York. He was the son of Robert H. Dix, Sr. and Lois Elizabeth Watson Dix. In 1951 the Dix family moved to Brazil. Bobby graduated from Brazil High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and received an Honorable Discharge. He was an independent painting contractor. He was currently attending Christ Community Church.
He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Dix of Brazil and Margie Bryant and her husband Bob of Terre Haute; three nephews, Grant Bryant, of Brazil, Clint Bryant and Dusty Bryant both of Terre Haute; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lois "Dusty" Dix and Robert Dix, Sr.
Services will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at French Funeral Home with Revs. Tim Russell and Tom Roeschlein officiating. Graveside military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 2 and VFW No. 1127. Burial will be at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and again Thursday prior to services.
The family requests that no flowers be sent. Memorial contributions should be directed to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers will be Bob Bryant, Grant Bryant, Clint Bryant, Dusty Bryant, T.G. Timberman and Terry Timberman.
