Edith Cecilia (Cele) Callahan, 76, of Brazil, formerly of Indianapolis passed away in her sleep after suffering with a rheumatic heat since childhood on February 22, 2006.
Born August 9, 1929, in Washington, Indiana, she was the youngest of 12 children to Joseph and Christine (Dages) Malloy who preceded her in death. She is the widow of Robert (Smokey) Callahan,
Survivors include her three children, Samuel Callahan, Kelly Callahan and his twin sister Casey DeHoney, son-in-law, James Richard and grandson, James Robert DeHoney; sisters, Rita Freeman, Agatha Provoost, both of New York; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great nephews as well as many wonderful friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Gerald Callahan; brothers, Albert and Jesse Malloy; sisters, Marie Louise Goding, Sister Kathleen (Bernadette Malloy) of St. Mary-of-the-Woods; Anna Doris Capell, Mary Ellen Krumm, Margaret Kluemper, Pauline Smalec and Yvonne Boyd Wolf.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1109 Cameron St. with visitation there from 9 a.m.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
