Lois Maxine Courtney Grey, 85, of Brazil, passed away at 7:43 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2006, in Cloverleaf Health Care in Knightsville.
She was born September 13, 1920, in Clay County to Austin and Mazo Biller Courtney. Mrs. Grey worked in manufacturing for Quakermaid from 1947 until 1960 and then worked at CBS from 1960 to 1969. She was a member of the Benwood Mt. Lebanon Church and enjoyed quilting and knitting. Her husband, John L. Grey preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anna Modesitt. Survivors include four daughters, Greta J. Brush and husband Richard of Brazil; Lois Ann Wilson and husband Cecil of Greenwood; Jonna Sue "Susie" Cooper of Avon, Indiana, and Freeda Mathis and husband Scott of Williamsport; 10 grandchildren, Matt Brush and wife Sandy, Cathy McLin and husband Chad, Becky Reisinger, Stacy Lynn Wilson and husband Chris, Sam Wilson, Stuart Wilson, Brian Cooper, Andrew Mathis, Adam Mathis and Nikki Oliver and husband Ricky; six great-grandchildren, Eli Reisinger, Amanda Reisinger, Lexi Oliver, Trent Oliver, Brendan Oliver and Isabell Jane Wilson; a nephew, Tom Modesitt and wife Phyllis of Brazil and several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Calcutta Cemetery. French Funeral Home has been trusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be given to The Friendly Benwood Community Christian Youth Camp, 525 E. County Road 1200 N., Brazil, Indiana, 47834.
