Marie L. Albright, 95, formerly of Reelsville and Harmony, died Saturday afternoon, March 4, at Hickory Creek at Sunset nursing facility in Greencastle.
Born in Poland, in Clay County, on Nov. 29, 1910, her parents were William Tapy and Malinda Schultz Tapy. She married Wilford "Boots" Albright on July 2 7, 1940, and he died March 17, 1973.
She had been postmistress of the Harmony post office, then later for 10 years she was employed at the Putnam County Library in Greencastle. Also she had been a volunteer for the Senior Citizens Center and Heritage House in Putnam County. She was a member of the Reelsville United Methodist Church and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Green and Martha Dreher; four brothers, Ora, Arthur, Lester and Willard Tapy.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Larry Miller, Griffith, Indiana; two grandchildren and spouses, Jerry H. Blair II and Reigen Blair, LaPorte, Indiana; and Ginger and Andy Clark, Indianapolis; three great-grandchildren, Jacobie and Caleb Blair and Madison Clark, all at home and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil. The Rev. Phillip Badger will officiate and burial will be in the Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery in Putnam County. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Vistacare Hospice Foundation, 3900 S. 7th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47802. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
