Nellie Blanch Francis, age 84 of Brazil, died at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at her residence following a long battle with cancer.
She was born August 13, 1921, in Clay County, Indiana as the daughter of Pete and Zona Cagle Wilson. She attended Van Buren and Brazil High Schools. She was married to Wilbur Francis for 51 years. He preceded her in death on November of 1991. She was a loving mother and an active member of her community in Bowling Green. She also worked for several years at Dietz Lake. She attended Epworth United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Ronald J. and Johnnie J. Francis; one daughter, Debra Kay Francis; six brothers, Clifford, Johnny, Jimmy, Robert and Melvin Wilson and two sisters, Geneva Wilson and Babe Roeschlein.
She is survived by two brothers, Joe Wilson and his wife Patty of Brazil and Mickey Wilson and his wife Joann of Indianapolis, IN; one son, Gary Francis of Clay City; one granddaughter, Tammy Love and her husband Les of Ardmore, Oklahoma; one great-grandson, Hayden C. Love and special friend Dave Hunter of Brazil.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swalley Cemetery south of Bowling Green with Rev. John Fisher officiating. Moore Funeral Home is providing funeral services. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Wabash Valley.
