Clara "Ducky" Nelson, 65, of Jackson Township, died at 6 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006, at her residence.
She was born January 13, 1941, in Brazil as the daughter of John William and Viola Summers Stedman. She attended Brazil High School. Following high school she married Robert Nelson. She was a homemaker and worked the family farm with her husband. She enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms and gardening. She was employed for several years until her death in the deli at Pages Food Store in Brazil. She attended St. John's United Church of Christ near Poland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Everett Stedman; one grandson, Michael Moulton and one sister-in-law, Virginia Nelson.
She is survived by her husband Robert; one son, Michael K. Nelson; one daughter, Patricia L. Nelson of Terre Haute; one granddaughter, Sarah Moulton and one grandson, Harvey Moulton both of Somerset, Kentucky; one sister, Shirley Sanders of Brazil; two brothers, William C. Stedman and wife Patricia of Rosedale and Sammy J. Stedman and wife Judy of Brazil; three brothers-in-law, James and wife Patricia Nelson of Terre Haute, Jack Nelson of Brazil and Clarence L. Nelson and wife Brenda of Sullivan, Indiana.
Visitation will be 4-- 8 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Clay County Humane Society.
