William Earl Schlegel, 59, of Gardnerville, Nev., passed away March 12, 2006.

Bill served in Vietnam in the 1960s. He worked for the City of Los Angeles, Dept. of Transportation for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; a son, Eric; a stepdaughter, Tanya, of Gardnerville; aunts and uncles, Harold and Alberta (Stearley) Woodburn, of Indianapolis and Donald and Helen Schlegel of Venice, Florida; and a cousin, Max Schlegel, of Clay City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth (Stearley) Schlegel; a sister, Donna Schlegel; grandparents, Earl and Murial Schlegel of Staunton and William C. and Leatha (Brown) Stearley of Brazil.

The funeral will be at the Lawson-Slack Funeral Home. Call the funeral Home for the date and time.

Burial will follow at St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery on U.S. 42 east of Stearley Garage Road, Center Point.
