Raymond Arthur Marshall, 98 of Center Point, died at 6 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2006, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
He was born December 8, 1907, in Danville, Illinois, as the son of James Franklin and Lena Fowler Marshall. He married Alice Marietta Barnhart November, 3, 1943. He began his career at South Bend Toy Factory and continued with Ball Ban, Warren Featherbone and Borneman Corporation. He had an expertise in sewing heavy materials such as vinyl and managed those production operations. He attended the Bible Baptist Church of Terre Haute.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice; one son, Jack; daughter-in-law Darlene Marshall; two grandchildren; one brother, Harry Marshall and four sisters, Hazel, Eva, Lucille and Margaret.
He is survived by four sons, Steven Marshall and his wife Betty Kay of Center Point, Dennis Marshall of Raleigh, N.C., David Marshall and his wife Linda of Mich., and Jim Marshall and his wife Sachika of Elkhart, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 -- 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home and 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday. Funeral services will be at noon on Thursday with Pastor Jim Gibson and Pastor Olin Strader officiating.
Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Baptist Children's Home, 354 West Street, Valparaiso, Ind. 46383.
