Daisy L. Canada, 75, of Terre Haute, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2006, in Union Hospital at Terre Haute.
She had been employed for many years with Vibrant Party Sales at Terre Haute and later worked as a receptionist for the Wabash Valley Senior Citizen Center in Terre Haute. She was born on July 1, 1930, in Burnett, Ind., to Henry Pruiett and Lena S. Pruiett.
Survivors include her husband, Jack M. Canada whom she married on July 8, 1948, in the Bethesda United Methodist Church at West Terre Haute; two daughters, Cathy VanVactor and her husband, Charles of Seelyville, Ind.; and LaDonna Rowings and her husband, Ben of Hazelwood, Mo.; and formerly of Brazil, a son, Jack M. Canada II of Louisiana; five grandchildren, Jennifer Kemp and her husband, Jamie, Jessica Arevalo and her husband, Jermy, Logan Rowings, Lauren Rowings and Laci Rowings; five great-grandchildren, Marcus Phillips, Lucas VanVactor, Dalton Kemp, and Lanie Arevalo; special family members Janet and Ray Herline of Beamont, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Orville Pruiett, Junior Pruiett, George Pruiett and David Pruiett. She was a graduate of the former Concannon High School Class of 1948. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid Pacer and Cardinal fan and for many years she worked the election polls.
Services were held Saturday, March 11, at 1 p.m. in Fitzpatrick-Pearce Funeral Home. Burial was in Bethesda Memorial Park.
