Gladys Lavene Patrick, age 93, of Carbon was called to the Lord 5:40 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2006 at Clay Health Center in Brazil.

She was born in Parke County, Indiana on January 8, 1913 to Arthur and Ida Kibbe Morlan. A homemaker and mother of four, she was a wonderful cook who often served as the official Election Board Chef. She was a graduate of Raccoon Township High School in Bridgeton. She married Michael Leo Patrick on September 3, 1934.

She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Brazil. As a devout Christian, she enjoyed singing in the church choir at St. Joseph's in Carbon until it was closed and later at Annunciation Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Michael; one grandson, Michael A. Rothrock; two brothers, Alvin Morlan and Clarence Morlan; three sisters, Wilma Froderman, Leatha McHargue and Florence Vane.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law; Rita Rothrock and husband Robert of Brazil, Patricia Janz and husband William of Washington, Illinois and Veronica Lawson and husband Robert of Terre Haute; one son, Barry M. Patrick of Indianapolis; four grandsons, Jeff Rothrock of Brazil, Rob Rothrock of Brazil, Tom Rothrock of Terre Haute and Carter Lawson of Terre Haute; two granddaughters, Meghan Elliott of Port Orange, Florida and Linda Cesinger of Riley, Indiana; ten great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Ernest Philabaum and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4 -- 8 p.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Annunciation Church 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
