Betty M. Wells, 81, of Brazil, died at 12:05 p.m. on March 30, 2006. Betty was born February 4, 1925 in Fontanet, IN and was adopted into the loving home of Victor and Edith Swanger Woodruff. She married Alfred Wells on May 19, 1943. He preceded her in death.

Betty enjoyed reading, puzzles, raising finches, cockatiels and parakeets. She also collected salt and pepper shakers and Chihuahua figurines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son-in-law Larry L. Brackney.

She is survived by daughter Peggy A. Brackney of Brazil, granddaughter; Dena and Darrin Jackson of Indianapolis and great-grandson Tyler Benjamin Jackson, also of Indianapolis.

Services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at French Funeral Home with the Rev. Lyle Monnet officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of services. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. To light a candle in her memory, go to www.frenchfuneralhome.com.
