Thelma Mae Zentko, 78, of Carbon, passed away April 4, 2006 in the Terre Haute Union Hospital.
She was born May 4, 1927, in Brazil to John M. and Mable F. Stoll Vanatti. She was a 1945 graduate of Brazil High School and a member of the 1st Assembly of God Church. She later attended Ebenezer Church with family and enjoyed being a part of the church. On August 4, 1945, she married Howard Zentko and they were happily married for 56 years until his death in 2001. She worked as a Ward Secretary for Clay County Hospital for18 years, retiring in 1976. Thelma was a wonderful mother, grandmother and loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Claude, John Amos and Charles Vanatti and two sisters, Mary Belle Foulke and Zetta Gieseking.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Horn and husband Loren, Donna Elwell and husband, Larry and Dala Williams, all of Brazil; a brother, Clarence Vanatti; a sister, Eva Zentko; grandchildren, Troy and Lori Horn, Anthony Shawn and Rachel Horn, Scott and Jamie Elwell, Jeremy Elwell, Shelly and Bubba Roberts, Rob and Amanda Williams and Lisa and TJ Ferguson; great-grandchilden, Brad, Trey, Brooke and Blake Horn, Michael, Kinsey, Cassie and Morgan Elwell, Maddie and Lydia Roberts, Preston, Abilgail and Kennedy Williams and Ty Ferguson and many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2006, in the French Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Price officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2006, in the funeral home.
