Ruth Lawson, 76, of Brazil, passed away April 5, 3:40. p.m at Union Hospital.
She was born April 25, 1930, in Clay County the daughter of Henry Vanatti and Ida Mae Smith Vanatti. She married Henry Lawson Sr. in 1952. She attended the Assembly of God Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 80. She has been a resident at Jackson Gardens for over 20 years. She enjoyed living there and was active in planning dinners, playing Bingo, and spending time with friends. She was a loving mom, grandma and a wonderful friend.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters in law, Harry and Beth Lawson and James and Kelly Lawson; 12 grandchildren, Tracie Lawson, Jim Lawson, April Deveau, Toni Lawson, Niki Rodgers, Joshua Mattox, Rob Barnett, Lynetta Working, Heather Deakins, Brian Lawson, Harry Lawson, and Michael Mitchell; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family and a life-long friend Maudie Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry Curtis Lawson, Sr.; one son, Henry Curtis Lawson, Jr; two brothers, Ray Vanatti, and Sonny Vanatti; four sisters, Bessie Pierce, Margaret Kohler, Maxine Reisinger, and Ella Mae Hamilton.
Services will be held Sunday at French Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Jimmy Dowers officiating. Burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery.
