Janet Griffith, 59, of Warrenton, Virginia, and formerly of Brazil died Sunday, April 16, 2006, in Warrenton.

Born Dec. 4, 1946, in Springfield, Illinois, she spent her childhood in Brazil.

On Aug. 27, 1965, she was married to Robert "Bob" Griffith. They spent 38 years together prior to his death on Aug. 4, 2003.

After Bob's death, Janet moved to Virginia to be closer to her family.

Janet had also lived in the Arrowhead area, near Cimarron, Colorado, before moving to Montrose, Colorado.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brazil and a volunteer for Hospice & Palliative care of Western Colorado.

She enjoyed collecting antiques and loved anything that had to do with decoration. Above all, Janet loved her family.

Survivors include her son, Jason Robert Griffith, and daughter-in-law, Erin Dreistadt, of Nederland, Colorado; her daughter, Virginia L. Duckett, and son-in-law, Steven Duckett Jr., of Clifton, Virginia; and grandchildren, Paige Wiley Duckett and Steve "Trey" Duckett III, Isabel Griffith and Althea Griffith.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, in the Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose.
