Sara Jane Buck, 80, of Knightsville, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006, in the Terre Haute Union Hospital.

She was born April 10, 1926, in Brazil to Dr. Charles A. and Elsie B. Kantz Brush. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Brazil and loved to read and entertain.

Her father, Dr. Charles A. Brush, and her mother, Elsie Carmichael, and two brothers, Don and Ray Brush, as well as a sister, Midge Malsom, preceded her in death.

On March 7, 1948, she married James N. Buck; he survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Susan Shanks, and husband, Roger Eugene, of Brazil; a son, J. Michael Buck, and wife, Dale, of Grove City, Ohio; three sisters, Opal Fox Connors of Brazil, Margaret Brown and husband, Everett, of Brazil and Bertie Stimpson and husband, Robert, of Max Meadows, Virginia; a brother, Charles Robert Brush, and wife, Charlotte, of Brazil; a sister-in-law, Pat Shanks, and husband, Jack; five grandchildren, Amy Crossman and husband, Barry, of El Paso, Texas, Gina Selby and husband, Jeff II, of Brazil, Erin Joyner and husband, Dax, of Nashville, North Carolina, Thomas James Buck and wife, Helene, of Grove City, Ohio, and Michael W. Buck of Columbus, Ohio; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

Services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, April 27, 2006, in the French Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Bechtel and the Rev. J. Mark Hinshaw officiating.

Visitation wil be 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Calcutta Cemetery.
