Irene McDonald, 86, of Brazil passed away May 1, 2006, at 5 a.m. at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
She was born Sept. 3, 1919, in Clay City to John and Annie Wheat Cockerham. She graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1938. On Dec. 21, 1949, she married Roy D. "Duckey" McDonald. In her early years she worked at the Elks and Eddie's Sandwich Shop. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Thomas L. Crosley, grandson Kirk Albright, brother Jim Cockerham, sisters Pauline Cockerham Love and Nancy Cockerham.
Survivors include a son Larry Crosley and wife Juanita of Brazil; daughter Susan McDonald of Brazil; grandchildren Cynthia Carrington and husband Adam of Staunton; Dustin Crosley and wife Patricia of Brazil; Heather Payton and husband Todd of Brazil; Amber Carter and husband Nathan of Millington, Tennessee; Ronald Crosley, Robert Crosley, Dawn Anton and husband Eric of Lake Station, Indiana; great-grandchildren Wade Langley, Shelby Crosley, and Kaci Crosley all of Brazil; Madison, Dawson, and Riley Peyton also of Brazil; Gavin, Ian, and Jonas Carter of Millington, Tennessee; Jessica and Justin Anton of Lake Station, Indiana; sister Mildred and husband Tom Whitehead of Brazil; and John Cockerham Jr. of Portland, Oregon; and a sister Mary Rader of Brazil.
Private graveside services will be Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Summit Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Larry Richmond officiating.
