Marjorie J. Schronz, age 85, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Friday May 5, 2006 at the Logan Healthcare Center in Logan, following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 21, 1920, in Carbon, and was the daughter of the late Oreal and Alda Allen Brown.

Mrs. Schronz was a retired nursing instructor at MAJVS., and had received her nursing degree in 1941 from Indianapolis City Hospital in Indianapolis. She had also done many years of volunteer service at our area hospitals.

Surviving are a son, Verne (Beth) Sussman of Columbus; daughter, Celeste (Ben) Jennings of Logan; grandchildren: Abby Jennings, Jason Sussman, David Sussman, Mickey Delucco, Ted, Kyle and Hattie Hammersmith, Bradley and Jonathan Jennings; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters: Betty Brecht of St. Joseph, Michigan, and Patti Williams of Clearwater, Florida; and brothers: Tom Brown of Brazil and Lynn (Judy) Brown of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, F.J. "Doggie" Schronz, who died Dec. 3, 1983.

Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Bryan & Snider Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday May 10, 2006, at the Moore Funeral Home. Friends may call from 10 a.m. till time of services on Wednesday. Committal services will follow at Calcutta Cemetery in Brazil.
