Cecil E. Raab,72, of Brazil, died at 5:09 p.m. Friday at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
He was born Aug. 1, 1933, in Putnam County to Arvel and Helen Smith Raab. He had been employed at Columbia Records for 18 years. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard from 1955 to 1963, a member of Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and American Legion Post 2.
He married Catherine Rogers on Aug. 8, 1953.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harry and Luther Raab.
He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Beverly Rambo and husband, Michael, Penny Vanatti and husband, Dan, all of Brazil; Connie Brown and husband, David, of Knightsville, and Terry Close and husband, Dub, of Spencer, Indiana; eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren; one sister, Marie Johnson, and her companion, Ernie, of Diamond, Indiana; one brother, Wayne and wife, Hester, of Carbon; one sister-in-law, Rose Raab, of Brazil; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Bro. Ernie Rush officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 2 and VFW Post 1127.
