Dorothy McIntire Urbahns, 86, of Terre Haute, died Sunday morning, May 14, 2006, in her residence.

She retired in 1990 as a medical transcriptionist for AP&S Clinic. She was born on Sept. 19, 1919, in Lexington, Kentucky, to John Leslie McIntire and Rosa Lee DeBell McIntire. Her husband, the Rev. E.F. Urbahns, preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lucille and Imogene; and three brothers, John Leslie, Gordon and Arthur.

Survivors include a daughter, Florena Huntsman of Homosassa, Florida, and a son, James and his wife, Tammy of Crystal River, Florida; three grandchildren, Leanne, Michael and Jennifer; seven great grandchildren, Nicholas, Natalie, Trevor, Ariel, Rion, Logan and Tyler; one great great grandson, Nicholas, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Urbahns was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Bible Class. She was a "Pastor's Wife" and taking care of her family was very important to her.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006, in Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Philip G. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday 6 -8 p.m. in Callahan & Hughes Funeral home, 605 South 25th St., and also on Wednesday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 645 Poplar St., Terre Haute, IN 47807 or to Habitat for Humanity, 2313 Tippecanoe, Terre Haute, IN 47807 or to Hospice of the Wabash Valley, 600 South 1st St., Terre Haute, IN 47807.
