Kenneth Timbs, 72, of Seelyville, died at 11:41 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
He was born Sept. 8, 1933 in West Terre Haute, the son of Noel H. and Elva McQueen Timbs. He graduated from Concannan High School and attended college before joining the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged from military service Feb. 14, 1954 as a Sergeant.
He married Lois Graham Aug. 5, 1955.
He was employed as an ironworker working in building construction. He was a member of Local 439, New Life Fellowship Church in Seelyville, Masonic Lodge and the Vigo County Democratic Committee where he had served as Committee Chairman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Herman Timbs; sister-in-law, Ladonna Timbs; one granddaughter, Heidi Lakin; and one great grandson, John G.K. Lakin.
He is survived by his wife Lois; one daughter, Debra Slusser and husband, Keith, of Terre Haute; one son, Scott Timbs of Seelyville; two sisters, Ella May Dunn and husband, Jack, and Ilene Costas; grandchildren Roy Lakin Jr., Amy Lane and husband, Joseph, John Lakin, and Joshua Lakin; great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Lane, Devon Lakin, Kiara Lakin, Gabriella Lakin and Heidi Ann Lakin; several step-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at New Life Fellowship Church in Seelyville. Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday with Pastor Jeff Harpole officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Brazil. Moore Funeral Home provided funeral services.
