Pete Chalos, 78, died June 4, 2006, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
Born June 25, 1927, in Vigo County, he was the son of John Chalos and Katherine Katrissiosis Chalos.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy. He was a teacher and basketball coach for several area schools, including Van Buren High School in Clay County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Catherine Hoole and Mary Chalos and two brothers Eli Chalos and Paul Chalos.
He is survived by his wife, Ulla Chalos, two sons, Jim Chalos (Tina), and John Chalos and one daughter Kathy Miller (Jack); and six grandchildren, Adam Chalos, Aron Chalos, Austin Chalos, Alexis Chalos, Sydney Miller and Zachary Miller.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Cross Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 6, 4-8 p.m. and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Cross Tabernacle Church, 2929 N. 7th St., Terre Haute. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with military honors by Krietenstein Post 104.
