Deanna Lou Rice, 45, of Brazil, died Thursday evening after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana to Gerald Lee and Margaret Seay Simpson.
She graduated from Southmont High School. She was a homemaker and very devoted to her family. She was a member of The First Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing and was a member of the Jackson Township P.T.O.
On June 6, 1980, she married Brian J. Rice, who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Brianna and her husband, Austin Burns, of Indianapolis; three sons at home, Adam, Kyle and Craig; her father, Gerald Lee Simpson, and his wife, Carolyn, of Lagoda, Indiana; her father and mother-in-law, Alfred and Ruth Rice, of Crawfordsville; three brothers, Gary Simpson and his wife, Karen, of Crawfordsville, Larry Simpson and his wife, Ruth, of Lafayette, Indiana and Darrell Simpson and his wife, Betty, of Lagoda; a sister, Karen McFall, and her husband, Marc, of Cicero, Indiana; brother-in-law, Ken Rice, of New Market, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Mary Rice, widow of Milton Rice.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother-in-law, Milton Rice.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the First Christian Church in Brazil and one hour prior to services on Monday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with Brother David Bock officiating. Burial will follow at the Indian Creek Cemetery near Brownsvalley, Indiana.
