Rita K. Detro, 66, of Terre Haute, died June 17, 2006, at Holly Hills Healthcare Facility in Brazil. She had just been there for one day.

She was born Sept. 10, 1939, in Parkersburg, Indiana, the daughter of Victor Robinson and Isabel Anderson Robinson. She moved with her family to Brazil in 1954. She graduated from Brazil High School, Class of 1959.

August 31, 1973 she married Marion "Jiggs" Detro. She worked for Pinkerton Security as a guard for several years at Columbia House in Terre Haute. She last worked for Meadows Home Health Care as a home health aide.

She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Terre Haute and the Moose Lodge in Brazil. She enjoyed working in her flowers and spending time with friends.

She is survived by her sister and brother in law, Carolyn and Eldon "Benny" Hoggatt of Staunton and her brother and sister in law, John and Mary Beth Robinson of Terre Haute; one nephew Tony Hoggatt and fiancée, Angie Thompson, five nieces, Veronica Hall and husband, John, Dee Smith and husband, Rick, Dawn Lawson and fiancé, Eric Ferris, Brooke Mendoza and husband, Mario, and Beth Anne Robinson; several great-nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Tony Trout, of Terre Haute.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marion Detro, and one nephew, Benny Joe Hoggatt.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle with the Rev. Gerald Hoggatt officiating. French Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements. Post a heart of condolence at www.frenchfuneralhome.com
