Verna P. Long Foster, 84 of Terre Haute, went home to her Maker, June 26, 2006, at 2:25 a.m. at Southwood Health Center. She was born Nov. 1, 1921, in Jasonville, the daughter of Andrew Long and Byrd Cocherham Long.

Oct. 27, 1939, she married Noble B. Foster. She was his devoted and loving wife for 25 years, before he went home to the Lord Nov. 11, 1964.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing and taking care of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed embroidery work.

She is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie Yowell and husband Jack of Terre Haute and Kim Foster of Brazil; three sons, Alvin Foster of Terre Haute; Harold Foster and wife Ethel of Brazil; Ron Foster and wife Jacquita , also of Brazil; seven grandchildren, Angela Yowell, Mike Foster, Mark Foster, Shawn Foster, Michelle Foster Skvortsof, Don Noble Neuenschwander and Meredith Foster; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, including special nieces, Norma Westjohn and Reba Williams, and special nephew, Jack Perry.

She was preceded in death by her husband Noble Foster; a grandson, Charles Foster; and a daughter in law, Lois Jean Foster.

Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at French Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Longyear officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m, and again Thursday until time of service.
