Karon M. Neier, 61, of Brazil, passed away June 30, 2006 at 2:50 a.m. at Union Hospital.
She was born Dec. 1, 1944, in Vigo County, the daughter of Oren James Myrtle and Katherine Marie Pierce Myrtle. She attended Wiley High School. She worked at CBS and Columbia House for over 30 years. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #1127 and attended the Carbon Baptist Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband William Neier, whom she married Nov. 2, 1979; children, Sonia Blueher and husband, John, Jo Stephens and husband, Dave, Doug Bowden and wife, Lisa and Michel Patterson and husband, Bob, all of Terre Haute, Maria Tyler and husband, Rick, and Marc Neier and wife, Linda, all of Brazil; 17 grandchildren, Patricia Miller, Ashley Blueher, Erika Blueher, Summer Evans, Crystal Kalen, Amanda Stevens, Kelly Lloyd, Heather Stephens, Dougie Bowden, Matt Bowden, Stephanie Spugnardi, Andy Spugnardi, Brittney Spugnardi, Ryan Patterson, John Robert Patterson, Jeff Long and Sandy Long; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Marti Hickenbotham and husband, Randy, of Terre Haute; special niece, Tammy Evans; other nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Debbie Jenkins; one sister, Donna Evans, and one brother, Ronnie Myrtle.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at French Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-9 p.m. and again Monday prior to services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Carbon Baptist Church.
