Ray Henry Boyce, 77, of Greenwood, Indiana, and formerly of Brazil, died at 11:55 p.m. June 11, 2006, at his residence in Greenwood.
He was born Feb. 23, 1929, in Brazil as the son of Henry John and Kathryn Pearl Garrison Boyce. Ray graduated from Brazil High School and Indiana State University. He worked as an accountant for machinery equipment and health care businesses, including his own firm. He served as an executive officer in some of these companies until retiring in 1984 as president of his own company.
During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army until honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant in March 1957.
On May 8, 1953, he married Mary Elizabeth Marks who survives him.
Ray was a caring and compassionate man, devoted to his family. He enjoyed his home, travel, reading and new technology.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece, Melanie Thoms.
Ray is survived by his wife Mary; one daughter, Leslie Cronk and husband, Douglas, of Indianapolis; two sisters, Kathryn Trout and Imogene Harris and husband, Wayne, all of Brazil; three nieces, Jeanne Moschenrose of Hannibal, Missouri; Eva Roach and husband, John, of Harmony and Kathy Cotton and husband, Larry, of Coatsville, Indiana; two nephews, Walter Marks and wife, Mary, of Greendale, Wisconsin and Gunther Thoms of Brookfield, Wisconsin and nine great-nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8th, at Moore Funeral Home.
