Charles William Fry Sr., 59, of Brazil, passed away Monday, July 17, 2006, in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born March 25, 1947, in Terre Haute, Ind., to William F. and Zella Miller Fry. On Nov. 23, 1968, he married Cathy Ann Spicka. He was a truck driver for several years for Underwood Trucking and later for Hancor Inc. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving as a jet engine mechanic during Vietnam.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, rooting for Darrell Waltrip and Kasey Kahne, enjoyed fishing and loved his granddaughters very much.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Spicka Fry; a daughter, Pam Fry, of Brazil; a son, Chuck Fry and wife, Lori, of Brazil; three granddaughters, Bailey, Paige and Abby Fry; a brother, Dave Fry, and wife, Diane, of Staunton; two sisters, Rose Johnson and husband, Norm, of Staunton and Nancy Cole and husband, Ray, of Brazil. Survivors also include Melina Phillips and Heather and Scott Well of Brazil, several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Services will be Thursday, July 20, 2006, in the French Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. There will be military honors prior to the service.
