Mary Naomi Thomas, 92, of Center Point passed away July 21, 2006, in her daughter's home.
She was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Staunton, the daughter of John Eder and Barbara L. Roeschlein Eder.
She married Charles Thomas on March 26, 1938. They had their family farm together and she enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of the Ashboro United Methodist Church. She was a member of Eastern Star, the Home Ec Group, she was a 4-H Leader and was an avid Euchre player. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and most importantly being a mom and loving grandma.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Don Keller, of Martinsville, her son, James E. Thomas, of Okeana, Ohio; two grandchildren, Brad Keller and wife, Debbie, and Paige Watson; seven great-grandchildren, Keller Watson, Brandon Watson, Alivia Keller, Sophia Keller, Eric Johnson, Evan Johnson and Stephanie Watson; many nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles Thomas died June 27, 1990; four brothers, Ray Eder, Roy Eder, Chuck Eder and Jim Eder; two sisters, Anna Harshbarger and Bertha Younghun.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Summit Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Myron James officiating. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. at the cemetery. French Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society or to the Southern Care Hospice.
