Mary Paulette Whitted, 63, of Brazil died at her home 4:40 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2006.
She was born Aug. 27, 1942, in Indianapolis as the daughter of Doyne and Mary Raybould Groner. Following graduation from Van Buren High School, she attended Smart Appearance Beauty College. She married James William Whitted Dec. 9, 1964.
She worked for several years as Deputy Clerk in the Criminal Court of Johnson County.
She loved dogs and volunteered her time at the Clay County Humane Shelter. She was an avid shopper and fan of figure skating.
She was preceded in death by her father, one brother-in-law, Mike Whitted and one nephew, Hans Anacker.
She is survived by her mother, Mary "Mamie" Massinon of Brazil; her husband James "Jim" Whitted; one sister, Cheryl Whitted of Brazil; three sons, BJ Whitted and wife, Stacy, of Chesapeake, Va., Devon Whitted Tucson, Ariz., and Sean Whitted serving in Iraq; two daughters, Patra Whitted and partner, Melinda Guiel, of Venice, Fla., and Shannon Witt and husband, Rick, of Venice, Fla.; grandchildren Jessica, David, Miranda, Veronica; Tyler and Christian; great-granddaughter Aubrey and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. At the request of the deceased, her body will be cremated.
