Harry Stough, 91, originally of Brazil, died 12:05 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2006, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare in Monticello.
He was born January 21, 1915, in Brazil, Ind., as the son of Walter and Mary White Stough. Following graduation from Staunton High School, he entered military service with the U.S. Army, serving with the 106th Infantry Division in Northern France and central Germany. He earned the American Defense Ribbon, the EAME Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Ribbon.
He was employed with the Terre Haute Gas Company as a pipe fitter until his retirement. He was a member of Sugar Grove Methodist Church. He married Betty Vaughn December 2, 1944 in Terre Haute where they lived until 1999. She preceded him in death January 23, 2006. He enjoyed his family and spending time fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Betty; two brothers, George and Joseph Stough; one sister, Naomi Lucas and his sister-in-law, Christina Stough.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Copas and husband Dave of Monticello and Suzanne Reimel and husband Gordon of Carefree, Arizona, and one grandson, Chad O'Leary of Carmel, Indiana.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday with Pastor Monte Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
