Cora M. Snyder, 78, of Brazil, passed away July 30, 2006. at Clay County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Brazil.
Born May 2, 1928, she was the daughter of Carl and Sylvia Stringer Riggs. She graduated from Fontanet High School in 1946. Cora was a member of the Eastern Star. Oct. 4, 1946, Cora married Eddie Snyder; he passed away Nov. 24, 1994. For may years she was employed by the Donnelley Corporation as a secretary. She also owned and operated the Brazil Credit Company and was involved in insurance sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, George Snyder; two sisters, Elsie Harrah and Luetta Skirvin; an infant brother, Patrick Riggs and a great-granddaughter, Michaela Snyder.
Cora is survived by two sons, Everett Snyder and wife Catrina, of Brazil and Richard Snyder of Seelyville; a brother, Carl Wayne Riggs and wife , Molly, of Lebanon, Ind.; a sister, Carol Jones and husband, Bill of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Megan Weddle and husband, Jerod of Brazil and Codie Snyder also of Brazil; Deanna Snyder of Center Point and Richard Snyder of Riley, Ind.; George Snyder and Amanda Snyder, three great-grandchildren as well as a special cousin, Edith Pounds.
Services will be at French Funeral Home, Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bill Price officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery in Brazil. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
