H. Laverne Cooper, beloved sister and aunt, passed away after a brief illness at Terre Haute Regional Hospital on Aug. 4, 2006.
Laverne was born March 30, 1928, in Brazil, the eldest of 14 children born to Mason and Frances Cooper who preceded her in death.
Vern attended Stunkard School, was a member of the First Christian Church and lived a very full, active, and happy life. Aunt Vernie was a wonderful caregiver through the years to generations of children, family and others, very loved and respected by all who knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Leioe Cooper; and five brothers respectively, Ronnie Cooper, Sidney Cooper, Les Cooper, Ralph Cooper and Russell Cooper; a sister-in-law, Nancy Cooper; six brothers-in-law, Sherman Nichols, Jack Bradshaw, Richard Craig, Carl Pell, Bob Archer and Pat Fagan; and a nephew, Jeff Cooper.
Surviving her are siblings, Jane Bradshaw, Annis Craig Shaugnessy, Carolyn Nichols, Rose Pell, Commodore Cooper, Edna Fagan and Dale and Sharon Cooper, all of Brazil. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. We will miss her and love her dearly.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Clearview Cemetery. The French Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
