Aretha E. Riggle, 90 of Clay City, passed away Aug. 7, 2006, at 7 p.m. at her home.
She was born April 28, 1916, in Coal City the daughter of Harley A. Fulk and Elizabeth Bond Fulk. She graduated from Patricksburg High School. Sept. 23, 1939, she married Herschel A. Riggle. They worked together on their family farm. She enjoyed homemaking and her life on the farm. She was a member of the Friendly Open Bible Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herschel A. Riggle in 1972; her son, Herschel L. "Sonny" Riggle in 1996; three brothers, Harold Fulk, John Fulk and Paul Fulk.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Williams, of Coal City; three grandchildren, Gregory L. Clements and wife, Debbie, of Coal City, Brandon L. Riggle, of Clay City, and Charles L. Riggle and wife, Lynn, of Owensville, Ind.; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harley Max Fulk and wife, Clarice, of Clay City and Lester Gene Fulk and wife, Shirley, of Radcliff, Ky.; several nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Corns officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until services at 2 p.m.
