Verta Jean Snyder of Brazil, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 6, 1916, in Clay County, Ind., as the daughter of Len and Gertrude Carrithers Love. She attended Brazil High School. She married Robert Snyder Dec. 15, 1951, in Rockville, Ind. She was employed at Midland Products for 24 years. She was a member of Van Buren Homemakers Club and enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brazil.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lucille Barrett and Wanetta Sefton; and three brothers, Wayne, Carl and Kenneth Love.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Marcia Davis, and husband, Yale of Brazil; one sister, Kathryn Walton, of Indianapolis; godchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastors Ed Mishler and Mark Thompson officiating.
