Mark Randall Flynn, 45, of Ireland, Ind., died at 9:05 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born in Greene County on July 15, 1961, to Roy Junior Flynn and Beverly (Swanson) Flynn. He married Irma Wessel, Oct. 7, 1989, in Jasper, Ind.

He was a tanker driver (oil transporter) for Ackerman Oil in Jasper and had previously worked for the Jasper Engine Exchange. He also was a former sports official for the Indiana High School Athletic Association. He graduated from the Switz City Central High School in 1979 where he was senior class president. He also was a four-year letterman in his high school sports career.

His memberships include St. Mary Catholic Church, Precious Blood Church Choir, Ireland Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul Society of Ireland and Loyal Order of the Moose, Jasper.

He was an avid fisherman and Bobby Knight and REO Speedwagon Fan.

Survivors include his wife, Irma; two sons, Matthew Flynn, Washington, Ind., who is a student at USI in Evansville and Ryne Flynn, Ireland, a student at Jasper Middle School; mother, Beverly Erfft, Brazil; grandmother, Anna Belle Swanson, York, Neb.; one brother, David Flynn and spouse Michele, Linton, Ind.; two sisters Mrs. Ron (Debra) Hobson-Muncie, Brazil; Mrs. Harry (Rebecca) Andrews, Toledo, Ohio; one stepbrother, Paul Erfft, Center Point; two stepsisters, Carol Culler, Brazil, and Marian Worley, Columbus, Ind.

Preceding him in death were his father, Roy Junior Flynn, stepfather, Marion (Bud) Erfft; brother-in-law, Richard Hobson and one niece Lisa Gardell Webb.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ireland. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. CDT Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and 8-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland or the the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana.
