Revel G. Hale, 77, of Coal City, passed away at his son's residence in Clay City at 5:10 a.m. Sept. 2, 2006.
He was born Dec. 22, 1928, in Tompkinsville, Ky., to Johnnie and Mattie Thurman Hale.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked as a steel worker for Diamond Chain in Indianapolis retiring in the mid-1980s. Sept. 30, 1952, Revel married Natalie Runyon Hale, she preceded him in death.
Revel enjoyed fishing, working on cars and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a son Terry Hale.
Survivors include two sons Tim Hale and wife, Petra, of Clay City and Mark Hale and wife, Starla, of Plainfield; grandchildren, Terry Hale Jr., Janet Hale, Newton Hale, Mark Hale Jr., Sarah Collisi, Eric Collisi, Patrick Collisi, Timothy Hale II, Katharina Hale, and Beth Hale; two siblings Joseph and Caroline; and a large extended family.
Graveside services for Mr. Hale will be at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vista Care Hospice.
