BETTY JANE CROSBY
Betty Jane Crosby, 81 of Brazil, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Sept. 4, 2006, at 1:20 p.m. at St. Vincent Clay Hospital. She was born June 6, 1925, in Logansport, the daughter of George and Esther Packard Fulton. She attended Gerstmeyer High School. Aug. 29, 1942, she married Frederick William "Bill" Crosby, Jr. He preceded her in death in February 1963.
Betty worked for CBS in Terre Haute for 32 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Kerman Grotto in Terre Haute.
Several years ago she moved to Brazil to be close to her family. She was active in the Staunton United Methodist Church, serving on the board and as a trustee. She later began attending the First Presbyterian Church with her grandchildren and enjoyed participating in church events there as well. She was a loving and devoted mom, grandma and great-grandma.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Nancy Jane and Ben Reberger; granddaughter and husband, Christina and Charles A. Bell and their children, Sarah E. Bell and Craig A. Bell; grandson and wife, B. Lee Reberger and Rochell and their children, Hannah and B.L. "Trey" Reberger, III; also her extended family including, David Reberger, James and Patty Reberger, Paul and Shirley Reberger and Rosemary Reberger.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bill Crosby, Jr. in 1963.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at French Funeral Home with Gary Scroggins officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and again Thursday prior to services. Post a heart of condolence at www.frenchfuneralhome.com
