Ernest C. Rush Sr., age 77, of Joplin, Mo., passed away at 3:53 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo., following two weeks of ill health.
Ernest was born Dec.18, 1928, in May, Okla. He moved to Joplin in 1962 where he had resided until moving to Springfield a year ago to live with his son. Ernie was the owner of Ernie's Auto Repair in Joplin until 1993. He and his wife then became the Host and Hostess for Good News Productions Int. in Joplin until moving to Springfield.
He was a member of the North Joplin Christian Church and had served the church as both an Elder and Deacon.
He married Carol Powers Dec. 29, 1948, in Perryton, Texas, and she survives. Additional survivors include three sons, Ernest C. Rush Jr., Brazil, Ind.; Ronald D. Rush, Joplin, Mo., and Dakota E. "Dick" Rush, Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Vernie Rush, May, Okla., and Jim Rush, Lawton, Okla.; two sisters Faye Allen, Shamrock, Texas, and Katie Land, Paul's Valley, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
